Who we are

Intuergy is different because we are independent, resourced with people who have a track record of major energy transition project development, trained in upstream techniques and not in competition with owners, developers or the supply chain. 

Intuergy was founded by Nigel MacLean in Aberdeen in 2003 to provide technical consultancy services to major upstream energy companies. We have over two decades of experience over some of the most interesting asset developments, redevelopments and abandonments using globally refined project and business management techniques completely translatable to the energy transition sector. Nigel commenced his own energy transition in 2019 when asked via Intuergy to lead the early stage redevelopment of the UK largest gas storage facility into a future UK strategic energy store for Methane or Hydrogen which is now entering FEED for the owners. Following on from this Nigel was asked to join Centrica Plc as Head of Projects in 2021 to develop and deliver over £0.5bn of energy transition capital projects over net zero NHS programmes, solar, BESS, and Hydrogen ready gas peaking power stations in the UK and Europe. Nigel successfully led what is one of the most diverse capital investment programmes in Centrica history building an internal development, EPC and PMO team who continue to deliver a LTI free pipeline of energy projects.
